back to school

It’s that time again. Tuesday was my last day at Apple for the summer, a departure I’m somewhat mixed about. The tons of cool new gadgets and great people were slightly offset by a changed atmosphere, but I certainly enjoyed working there this time around. It isn’t everywhere that you can sell $15,000 of technology in a day and not feel like some pushy asshole salesman.
On that note, I just picked up an Airport Express that will replace my awful D-Link DI-524 router at the apartment. Right now it’s just a music streaming device sitting on the house network – everything that can go wireless these days I do.
So, it’s back to North Dakota in just a matter of days. I’m looking forward to what’s going to be one hell of a semester, and certainly a stressful one. A bunch of the guys who stayed for the summer just got hired as instructors – congratulations are in order, along with some good luck. We’ll see how the fall goes for me with my CFI training.
Anyway, for now it’s down to packing and last-minute partying. I’m going to see Snakes on a Plane this Friday, followed by a visit to Seattle’s delicious Feierabend restaurant (if you like German food and beer, on tap, it’s the place to be). I’ll probably have some thoughts on that, and then it’s a two-day solo road-trip extravaganza back to the grandest of the Forks

hey! found you through 9rules… I really like your site. I’m obsessed with aviation. I see you attend UND… how is it there? They fund and run the aviation program i’m taking at my local CC and i might end up there in a couple years… I will be keeping up with your site!
Thanks, Justin – UND’s campus is pretty good, and the aerospace department is fantastic. The downside, of course, is that it’s in North Dakota, but you learn to bear its midwestern ‘charms’...
