Today is Boeing’s 90th anniversary, something brought to my attention by Randy Baseler’s great article. Here’s to another 90 years of aviation breakthroughs!

wow, I wasn’t aware that Boeing was actually that old. I thought they’d have been a child of the second World War, or the glorious 20’s… seems I was wrong.

Yeah, they started building seaplanes way back, and then competed with Douglas in the first big airliner boom. A lot of the major aircraft companies (except for Airbus) were founded before the 1920s. Now they’ve all merged into megacorporations though. :(
