Merry Christmas!

It's a scary thought, but my dad and I can cook. I’m just about to head out the door for a Christmas Eve dinner in Seattle with some friends and family, but before I do – have a Merry Christmas! I hope everyone has a fun, satisfying, and safe holiday. We’ve been cooking like crazy around the house – my mom’s been baking cookies, and my dad and I have been making Gougeres (French pastry puff things made with Gruyere cheese) for appetizers… it’s finally winding down and getting less hectic.

Went to the mainland and checked out our Yankee yesterday (and forgot my camera), taxiing it around with my to get the feel for the differential brakes. There isn’t a steerable nosewheel, so it took some getting used to, but the simplicity of the aircraft is both reassuring and refreshing. Hopefully I’ll get in touch with the local Grumman instructor after Christmas and get myself checked out.

I’d love to expose more people to aviation, so if you’ll be in the Seattle area through the first week in January, drop me a line here and we’ll see if I can take you flying!

just looking at the picture, I can’t tell if its pastry, meatballs or fried mushrooms!

Aren’t cameraphones great?

They turned out to be quite popular! The (French) father of one host started a trend of stuffing them with smoked salmon, which was an incredible idea.
