FTD plan of action: NDB navigation

We’re flying from KGFK to KCKN with a paying passenger, who needs to see some guy about a thing. Emphasis will be on:

  • Copying clearances
  • Resource management
  • Checklists and altitude callouts
  • NDB tracking and holding

Flight
  1. Sioux 2, cleared to CKN as filed. Climb and maintain 3000 feet, expect 5000 ten minutes after departure. Contact departure on 118.1, squawk 0302.
  2. Sioux 2, turn left heading 100.
  3. Sioux 2, turn right heading 210, climb and maintain 5000.
  4. Sioux 2, fly direct CKN NDB, cleared for the NDB RWY 13 approach. Follow the missed approach as published, expect three turns in holding and report back this frequency.
  5. Vacuum failure! Bummer.
  6. Sioux 2, you are cleared for the NDB RWY 13 approach. On the missed, climb 2600, then right turn direct GFK and hold.
